On Jan 7th, the Training Course on Safety Standards and Sustainable Development of University Laboratories was successfully held in Guangzhou by the International Sustainable Development Laboratory Branch of China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association and the Laboratory Research Association of Guangdong Higher Education Association.
Wang Xin, President of China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Duan Xiaohong, Secretary General of China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association, Li Qingxiang, Expert of the association, Ma Qiang, Director of Laboratory Research Association of Guangdong Higher Education Association attended the meeting. The training course was hosted by Chi Haipeng, Vice President of the association.
More than 130 teachers from Tsinghua University, South China University of Technology, Guangdong University of Technology, East China University of Science and Technology and other universities attended the conference.
The workshop invited experts from the laboratory industry, including: Song Guilan, Former Deputy Director of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment, Chief Engineer of China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association, Wendell C. Brase, Vice President of Sustainable Development Institute, University of California, Irvine, Joe Tinari, Jacobs Laboratory Design Director, Du Wujun, Senior Manager of HSE at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Zhang Jing, director of Laboratory safety at DOW Asia Pacific, Chi Haipeng, Vice President of China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association and General Manager of Beijing Dynaflow Lab Solutions Co., Ltd. Six experts brought seven keynote speeches and two roundtable discussions.
Workshops around the university laboratory management latest policy, the international advanced universities laboratory design, operation specification, energy saving, safety and environmental protection new good laboratory practice, Chinese universities laboratory design, management and operation of a new direction, college teachers frequently respond when questions link, actively interact with experts to discuss.
University laboratory seminar was held after the meeting. The experts of training from tsinghua university, East China University of Science and Technology teacher held in-depth discussions on effective ventilation and balance of energy saving design, rational storage of hazardous chemicals and smrat laboratory. At the same time, reasonable solutions are given to the problems commonly faced by Chinese university laboratories.The training course was highly praised by the participants for its forward-looking and academic nature.
