Chinese laboratory design wins international award again

Lawrence Convention Center.The ceremony about 2022 Sustainable Laboratory Award for Buildings or Projects .I2SL's Executive Director Kathleen Brady announced that Wanhua Global Research Center has won the 2022 New Construction Outstanding Contribution Award for its extraordinary performance in Waste Reduction, Recycling and Diversion,won the 2022 New Construction Outstanding Contribution Award, which is the first time China Lab Design has won this award.The design and construction of the laboratory part of Wanhua Global Research Center was completed by Dynaflow.

Wanhua Global Research Center is located in Yantai City, Shandong Province, China. There are 20 laboratory buildings and 7 office buildings in the park, with a total construction area of 333,000 square meters.

After the completion of Wanhua Global Research Center, the energy saving will reach more than 63.5%, the water saving will reach more than 20%, and the dust removal efficiency will reach more than 90%. It can reduce CO₂ 11,000 tons per year and save 18.85 million yuan per year in operating costs.

Wanhua Global Research Center fully adopts the prefabricated implementation mode,the production of all modules is completed by the high-efficiency semi-automatic assembly line in the factory. All the high-noise, high-dust and high-risk work in the production and installation process are completed by robots.

The project saves 97% of labor hours, 85% of construction time, 90% of construction site pollution emissions, 90% of high-altitude work, indoor PM2.5 is up to 30.4 during construction, and noise is up to 60 decibels.

I2SL (International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories) was developed from the project "Labs 21" sponsored by the US government in 1995. Formally approved by the federal government in 2005, I2SL was established to stimulate industry development and advance the mission of Labs21. I2SL is committed to the improvement of sustainable laboratories from design to implementation and operation and maintenance management, and encourages the development of high-tech facilities applied to sustainable laboratories to cope with the changing environment.
